SILOS // LOCK-IN

Your work shouldn't be held hostage by a platform.

Expctral was built to end this.

  • LOCK-INIf I leave the platform, my project stays behind.
  • GLSL STRINGSMy shaders are concatenated strings that break and can't be debugged.
  • LOST WORKEvery time the shader language changes, I rewrite everything.
  • COLD STARTI always start from a blank canvas.
  • HEAVY INSTALLSBefore creating anything, I have to install plugins and heavy software.

CODE SOVEREIGNTY // OPEN-CORE

An open 3D creation station, right in the browser.

Expctral combines WebGPU performance with TSL (Three.js Shading Language) and a transparent open-core model. The runtime and the visual compiler belong to the community under Apache 2.0.

Expctral replaces data lock-in with total developer autonomy.

Expctral fundamental principle

Code sovereignty

The output is clean, independent TypeScript: a real and permanent asset.

Universal access

No downloads. If there is a modern browser, there is Expctral.

Native performance

WebGPU gives direct access to modern graphics cards, with parallel compute shaders.

ECOSYSTEM // 4 SURFACES

Four surfaces, one ecosystem.

Integrated gears designed to shorten the distance between creative intent and scalable monetization.

ENGINE // WEBGPU/TSL RUNTIME

Sinapse Engine

Dual pipelines in parallel: a Compute Pass on storage buffers and a Render Pass targeting 60+ FPS, with a visual TSL compiler that only emits valid shaders.

COMPUTE PASS→ STORAGE BUFFER · 16 B→ RENDER PASS

This page's hero runs on that same runtime, live.

[ ⚡︎ EJECT TYPESCRIPT ] 0% LOCK-IN expctral-4096-vortex.ts

A clean .ts file with pure TSL functions. It only depends on standard Three.js and runs on any server or React/Next.js app.

REGISTRY // ORBIT CLUSTER

Spectral Registry: publish, refract, earn.

Monolithic .exp packages carry the node graph and its parameters. Every refraction keeps an immutable lineage back to the primordial author. This catalog is a working simulation with the four Primordial Spectra.

    ARCHITECTURE // SINAPSE + PRISM

    Built on open standards, end to end.

    Four decisions that turn a visual graph into fast, portable code.

    01 // DUAL PIPELINES

    Compute and render in parallel

    The Compute Pass runs physics, particles and instancing on storage buffers inside the GPU. The Render Pass receives that data already in memory and draws geometry, light and TSL materials.

    COMPUTE PASS · WORKGROUP 64 ↓ STORAGE BUFFER · STD430 · 16 B ↓ RENDER PASS · TSL MATERIAL

    02 // VISUAL TSL COMPILER

    Nodes become native TSL functions

    Instead of concatenating fragile GLSL or WGSL strings, every node maps to a real TSL function. Shaders created visually are syntactically valid and transpile to both WebGPU and WebGL.

    // Spectrum Color node → TSL
    material.colorNode = mix(
      uSpectrumA, uSpectrumB,
      clamp(uMix.add(hash(instanceIndex)), 0, 1)
    );

    03 // 0% LOCK-IN

    Eject clean TypeScript at any time

    The graph is transpiled into a standalone .ts file with pure TSL functions. It only needs standard Three.js and runs on any server or React/Next.js app.

    import * as THREE from 'three/webgpu';
    import { Fn, uniform, instancedArray } from 'three/tsl';
    // zero proprietary dependencies
    export function createVortex(renderer) { … }

    04 // MULTIPLAYER CRDT

    Co-create without conflicts

    Yjs CRDTs over WebSockets let several creators move nodes, change parameters and connect wires in the same graph at the same time, with live telemetry cursors.

    REMIX LOOP // GROWTH TREE

    From silos to the remix loop.

    Traditional development (silos)

    • Closed, proprietary projects.
    • An isolated learning curve.
    • Static, single-use assets.
    • Starting from zero (cold start).
    • Code trapped in binary silos.

    Expctral model (remix loop)

    • Projects open to inspection and remix.
    • Learning by deconstruction (Growth Tree).
    • Living assets that evolve with the community.
    • Starting from validated templates (warm start).
    • [ ⚡︎ EJECT TYPESCRIPT ]: clean code, 0% lock-in.

    Is Expctral for you?

    It's for you if you are…

    • A 3D artist, game designer or shader developer who wants to create in the browser.
    • An indie creator who wants early builds and code with no strings attached.
    • A studio or freelancer who wants to sell materials and presets and keep 85% of each sale.
    • A company or fund that wants to sponsor open infrastructure.
    • An educator who treats TypeScript as a real curriculum.

    It's not for you if…

    • You prefer closed tools that keep your project locked inside them.
    • You need a finished product today. Expctral is being built in public, phase by phase.

    Frequently asked questions

    What if I want to leave the platform?

    Click [ ⚡︎ EJECT TYPESCRIPT ]. Your node graph becomes a clean .ts file with pure TSL functions that only needs standard Three.js. It runs on any server or React/Next.js app, with no Expctral dependencies.

    Can I use it in a commercial product?

    Yes. Apache 2.0 allows unrestricted commercial use without opening your product's code, grants an explicit patent license from every contributor and only asks you to keep the copyright notices in modified original files.

    What if my browser doesn't support WebGPU?

    Expctral falls back to WebGL2 automatically. TSL transpiles to both WebGPU and WebGL, so the code you write today is future-proof. The live counter at the top of this page shows which renderer your browser is using right now.

    Where will my support go?

    The first goal (R$ 15,000) covers servers, domains, certificates and the initial Sinapse Compiler infrastructure. The second (R$ 50,000) consolidates Prism Studio, brings in senior engineering support and prepares the angel round.

    How does OSC governance work?

    The plan is fiscal hosting through the Open Source Collective, a US 501(c)(6) nonprofit, with GitHub Sponsors integration for community and B2B sponsorship and public financial transparency. Enrollment is still in progress.

    How does the marketplace work?

    In the Spectral Registry, creators publish TSL materials, presets and 3D projects. 85% of each sale goes to the creator and 15% stays with the platform for infrastructure and engine development.

    Can I use the platform already?

    Development follows phases 0 to 4 (see the roadmap above). Today you can try the Prism Studio prototype on this page and eject its TypeScript.
